OUR FRAMEWORK
The yogis say that if we understand what reality is, we can understand how it works. And if we understand how it works, we can learn to relate to it in a way that facilitates our transformation. Our simple, yet profound frameworks for understanding creativity encourage the rhythmic cycles of creation,
In the ancient yogic text known as the Bhagavat Purana, the story of Lord Brahma, the proverbial architect of the cosmic manifestation is described. He is born of a lotus flower stemming from the navel of Lord Vishnu, who lays on the waters of the causal ocean in deep sleep. Brahma opens his eyes to find himself alone in the darkness of the universe. Unaware of who he is and what he is meant to be doing, he engages himself in austerity and meditation. It is in this trance that he realizes that the very lotus on which he rests, is connected to Vishu, or Divinity. Upon realizing this inherent connection, he hears a voice which tells him of his duty to construct the world of matter. In this act of creation, the voice of Divinity says, `Attempt to see Me everywhere, and everything in Me.`
It begins with inquiry, moves towards contemplation, and ultimately understands the act of making as an act that can unveil Truth.
This story uniquely and succinctly describes the creative process we come back to again and again at Luminous Arts.
